![]() Two pitches in, Calvin Harris delivered a leadoff triple with a ball hit down the right field line. Vera proceeded to deliver a strikeout to stop the bleeding. He delivered an RBI single and then with the bases loaded again, Andre Amato delivered a two-RBI hit to cut into he deficit. Vera proceeded to strikeout Aidan Kane on a 1-2 pitch, but a walk issued to Jackson Tyer loaded the bases for Tyler Leach. That brought Jordan Vera out of the Ole Miss bullpen. Henninger walked Eric Ludman as well, putting runners on first and second with one out. Joey Loynd reached first base on a fielder's choice while JJ Freeman got out at second base on the same play. Tommy Henninger returned to the mound and issued a full-count walk to JJ Freeman to start the inning. Ethan Lege lined out to left center field for the second out, before Kemp Alderman popped up to end the inning. Jacob Gonzalez followed that up with a walk. TJ McCants grounded out to second for the first out, but then Peyton Chatagnier hit another Ole Miss home run, a solo shot to left field to give his team double digit runs. Ethan Lege then made a great play at third base to complete a 5-4 play to get Ole Miss out of the inning with no further damage. He struck out his first batter, but then Dan Covino scored one on an RBI single to break the shutout. Bianco made a mound visit right after, and Rivas went back to the dugout in favor of Tommy Henninger. Rivas then walked Jackson Tyer on a full count, before walking Tyler Leach as well, putting runners on first and second with one out. With 60 pitches under his belt, Xavier Rivas returned to the mound and went through Aidan Kane with a grounder to second base. Harris then scored from third on an error at short before the end of the inning. Calvin Harris kept it going with a double off the left center field wall, and then he moved over to third after an Ethan Groff groundout. The inning continued as Ethan Lege singled to right center, then Kemp Alderman added a third consecutive hit and another home run, a two-run homer to left field. Peyton Chatagnier lined out to third for the first out, but before Jacob Gonzalez sent everyone home with a towering grand slam to right field to make it a five-run lead. Judd Utermark followed that up with a full-count single to left field, putting runners on first and second with no outs, then TJ McCants laid down a perfect bunt to load the bases. However, Calvin Harris sent everyone back to the dugout after picking off Kane trying to steal second base.Īnthony Calarco immediately got on base via walk. Rivas then struck out a fourth straight batter in Owen Petrich, before walking Aidan Kane. Rivas picked up right where he left off and struck out leadoff hitter Joey Loynd. On the mound, Xavier Rivas made his Ole Miss debut and pitched 4.1 innings. Peyton Chatagnier added a home run as well while Ethan Lege went 2-for-3 at the plate. Jacob Gonzalez knocked in seven of Ole Miss' 14 runs, four of those runs coming on a grand slam in the second inning. The Rebels once again run-ruled the Blue Hens by a final of 14-4, completing the season opening series sweep. Ole Miss had few issues with Delaware once again on Sunday thanks to a couple productive innings at the plate and a couple good innings from Xavier Rivas on the mound.
